McLaren, Mercedes & VCARB Shine as Red Bull Drops Livery Over Weight Concerns

Formula 1 teams love a bit of flair, and the Singapore GP is the perfect stage for it. With its electric night race setting, McLaren, Mercedes, and VCARB are all rocking special liveries to stand out.

McLaren’s taken their papaya-and-black scheme to a neon-infused new level, giving their car a futuristic look thanks to a glowing collaboration with OKX. Under the lights of Singapore, it’s going to look like something straight out of Blade Runner, and let’s be honest—McLaren’s already looking sharp on track this season, so why not dress for the occasion?

Mercedes, on the other hand, has opted for a full-on green makeover in tribute to their long-time partner Petronas. Gone is the stealthy black they’ve been famous for in recent years, replaced by a bold green livery. Will it make them any faster? Probably not—but with their struggles this season, at least they’ll be stylish while figuring it out.

Then there’s the Red Bull junior team, VCARB, who are also joining the fun. They’ve given their car a striking makeover with some sharp, sleek lines that mix classic Red Bull vibes with a fresh twist. It’s flashy, but just about restrained enough to avoid being OTT. A nice effort from the up-and-comers!

Now for the kicker—Red Bull themselves were supposed to join in with a fan-designed livery, part of their ‘Make Your Mark’ campaign. But in true Red Bull style, they ditched the plan at the last minute. Why? Added weight! Yep, apparently the extra paint was too much for Red Bull’s hyper-competitive brain trust, and they didn’t want to risk it. They’re so obsessed with weight-saving that even a few grams of paint were too much. Talk about extreme dieting!

So, who’s brought the best look to Singapore? That’s up to the fans, but with Red Bull’s weight woes, maybe it’s best they kept things light!
