Mercedes, on the other hand, has opted for a full-on green makeover in tribute to their long-time partner Petronas. Gone is the stealthy black they’ve been famous for in recent years, replaced by a bold green livery. Will it make them any faster? Yep, apparently the extra paint was too much for Red Bull’s hyper-competitive brain trust, and they didn’t want to risk it. They’re so obsessed with weight-saving that even a few grams of paint were too much. Talk about extreme dieting!
